this is the fruit of the date palm. They are commonly eaten dried, but fresh dates are also available. it widely grows in arid regions, mostly South Asia.

           Nutritional components per 100g of dried dates.

  • carbohydrates : 75g ( mostly natural sugars 66g)
  • protein: 1.8 - 2 g
  • calories: about 277 kcal
  • fiber: 6 - 8 g
  • fat: 0.2 - 0.4 g
  • potassium: 690 - 700 mg
  • vitamins: small amount of vitamin B6 and folates.
  • Magnesium, calcium, phosphorus and iron ( trace amounts)
  • Antioxidants: polyphenols and flavonoids.                                                       

             Health benefits of dates
